In 2022, at just 23 years old, Henry Dunn faced a life-altering amputation in the heart of the Australian outback. What followed was a transformation from a young man filled with fear and uncertainty to a competitive CrossFit athlete and inspiring public speaker. His journey is a living testament to resilience, mindset, and the power of adaptation.

Originally from the UK and now based in Dubai, Henry holds a First-Class Honours BSc in Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation. As an adaptive and inclusive personal trainer, he works extensively with a range of clients some of which living with amputations, spinal cord injuries, and neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease. Henry is deeply embedded in the adaptive sport and rehab communities in the UK and is driven by a mission to make health and fitness more inclusive for individuals with disabilities as he evidences that exercise is medicine.

Henry began his public speaking journey shortly after his amputation, addressing UK law firms and healthcare professionals—including Shoosmiths, Field Fisher, and No 5 Chambers on topics of personal injury and mindset. His message has since reached corporate audiences at Specsavers, AXA Insurance and K2 Corporate Mobility, as well as students across schools and colleges. At the heart of every talk is one theme: adversity, where Henry teaches his audience to embrace adversity and use it to fuel one’s growth.

Eighteen months post-amputation, Henry qualified to represent Great Britain at the 2024 Adaptive CrossFit Games in Texas, where he placed 6th in the world in his division, an achievement that reflects his philosophy: mindset is everything.
